Before printing, you can run a DLP Projector Test on your Lumii DLP printer. This ensures the projector is functioning correctly and projecting the image accurately. The test helps you confirm there are no issues with the light output, such as dim areas or flickering.
Safety Warning: Do not look directly at the projector light during the test. Direct exposure may cause eye discomfort or injury.
Performing a Projector Light Source Test
- Turn on the printer.
- On the touch panel, go to Settings > Hardware Testing.
- Tap DLP Projector Test.
Available Test Modes
There are three test modes available. Choose the mode that best fits what you want to check:
Full Brightness Test
- Select LIGHT UP. The projector should illuminate the entire build area evenly with no dark or dim spots.
Grid Test
- Select GRID. A grid pattern should display clearly and evenly across the entire build area.
Blackout Test
- Select BLACKEND. The projector should turn off completely, with no visible light leaks or spots.
Performing a Dry Print (Optional)
If you notice flickering or glitches, a Dry Print can help. This is a test print run without resin to confirm the projector is displaying the sliced image properly. Steps:
- Remove the building plate and the resin vat.
- Start a print job from the touch panel using any sliced file.
- Observe the projected image on the building area.
- It should match the sliced layers displayed on the screen.
- Look for any flickering or distortion.
